Does the rainforest absorb the most carbon?

Rainforests now only cover about 3% of the earth’s surface.  The Boreal Forest, a nearly unbroken ring of trees directly south of the arctic, absorbs the most carbon than any other group of trees.  Because of the huge amount of carbon it absorbs, it produces almost 1/3 of the total amount of oxygen in our atmosphere.
