The short answer would be yes, mostly. In areas where rain is prevalent, the fallen water becomes ground water that runs toward the sea, river, lake or nearest water source, and will systematically be trapped by a well on its journey. In places with little rain fall, it may not replenish a well as often. It depends upon the supply of the water and amount of rain for a given area. Of course, if a well does not penetrate the “water table,” of minimum depth of the ground water, it may never be replenished at all.
