Does putting batteries in a freezer make them last longer?

Yes, storing batteries in a refrigerator or in a freezer will add to their lifetime.  Cooling the battery particles reduces and slows their motion–and also reduces and slows their charge emissions.  Because small amounts of charge are released even when the batteries are not in use, cooling the batteries slows down this release of charge.

Yes for the reasons stated above but they only add 3% to the life of the battery.
