Apparently this process is very quick and efficient. Paper can be produced by the tons in an hour. It is not uncommon for a single machine to produce hundreds or thousands of tons of paper in a day.
Not necessarily. Recycling paper takes about the same time, or less amounts of time, as constructing new paper. The paper is split apart again by fiber, those fibers are mixed with liquid to make a new pulp, and that pulp is then formed into new paper.
