I would say they most likely do. The military relies on what they call Humvees both overseas and here in the country, on military bases.
Yes, the military has many more Hummers than the public, but they also have a much different version than what is offered consumers. The Humvee, as they are known, are the primary small armored vehicle that the military uses, with a mounted machine gun turret on the roof. These vehicles typically are part of transport convoys across terrain and protect more vulnerable non-weaponized vehicles and personnel. These vehicle are also much heavier than consumer Hummers and consume more fuel because of their powerful engines.
