Does overfishing hurt the Hawaiian islands at all?

The coral reef ecosystem in Hawaii is being threatened by commercial fishing.  Recreational fishing is also hurting the reef ecosystem.  Hawaii does not enforce regulations on fishing, and when there is enforcement, the fines are miniscule.

Overfishing is a problem in Hawaii because it lacks marine enforcement and imposes minimal fines whenever there is enforcement. The overfishing is affecting other organisms that depend on certain species of organisms as a vital food source. For example, overfishing is leading to a decline in lobster population which is a vital food source for the critically endangered Hawaiian monk seal. The overall ecosystem of Hawaii is being affected due to overfishing.
