A 2006 United Nations Report cited that the livestock industry produces 18% of greenhouse gas emissions-larger than the entire transportation industry! In 1997, the American meat industry produced over 1.4 billion tons of waste for every U.S. Citizen, according to the USDA. The methane from cattle and their manure equals 33 million automobiles and has a huge effect on global warming.
