Does oil get into our food stream?

It is possible. Since the oil from the BP spill was treated with dispersants, that oil is actually being mixed into ocean water and traveling throughout the waters. This would probably have negative effects on the filter feeders, since the chemicals and compounds in oil will enter their systems. As predators eat them, those toxins may travel up the food chain.
