Unveiled in July, New York introduced its renewable energy plan which, if implemented, would put the Empire State heads and shoulders above the other 49 in terms of solar heating and cooling. The program will conceivably create 25,000 green jobs, generate $2.6 billion in revenue and install 2 GW of solar thermal capacity over the next 10 years. The plan was created by 130 local industry, government and academic leaders. If completely realized, then 1 million solar hot water detectors would go into effect by 2020.
