Does the nervous system use more energy than the digestive system?

Yes; the brain alone consumes about 1/3 of the calories you feed your body. The nervous system requires electrical energy to work. Depending on the sort of lifestyle you lead, the brain can require a lot more calories than that. You use energy to digest and depending on the diet, it can be harder for your body to digest different things, but overall the nervous system requires consistent high energy input.

Yes, your brain and nervous system use about 20% of the energy in your body. Your brain is responsible for many vital processes and your thoughts use a lot of this energy as well, and thus is why the brain and nervous system is responsible for so much energy usage.
