Yes, Mercedes plans to showcase their the Vision S 500 Plug-in Hybrid at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. This plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV)has a 44 kW/60 horsepower electric motor, which takes approximately 4.5 hours for a full charge. When fully charged, the Vision S can get up to 18 miles on electric power before the gasoline engine intervenes – allowing it to have an impressive capacity of 73.5 miles per gallon.
