“Balanced coverage” is both subjective, and for such a complex issue, effectively impossible. And “the media” is one one entity. Some elements of the media at least try to do so; some others quite obviously do not.

I feel like the media doesn’t really offer balanced coverage on anything. They like to focus on particular things that are going to make headlines and gather the most attention. For instance, the media would rather report the crazy antics of a celebrity, instead of the effects that climate change are having on indigenous populations. There are many people trying to fight and stop climate change that aren’t really shown in the media (unless it’s some big charity event with lots of celebrities).
