It depends on the limestone’s environment and the minerals and chemicals that surround it that determine whether or not it corrodes easily. Also, atmospheric effects corrode limestone, so the weather and climate surrounding the limestone are also main causes. Acid rain corrodes limestone, as well as any other solution containing acid.
