If one’s religion leads to any healthful changes in a person’s life, then it’s a great thing. Any religion can lead to healthy eating if a person’s realizations about spiritual health become more clear. I certainly believe spiritual health leads to physical health in many ways. Perhaps a religious text about yoga leads a person to take a Hatha yoga class, for example, thereby improving that person’s health. Perhaps a determination to live in a non-harming way, as is preached in the texts of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism, leads one to eat a vegetarian or vegan diet, thereby eliminating saturated fats and cholesterol from the diet. There are many similar possibilities.
