Lead poisoning is more associated with damage to the nervous system, kidneys, and blood system, not cancer.
Studies have shown that there may be some evidence for lead causing cancer, but it is weak. If anything, it is believed to cause lung and stomach cancers, with even weaker evidence for causing brain and kidney cancers. Although the evidence for cancer is inconclusive and not very strong, lead exposure is still a concern worth monitoring closely. It is known to cause a host of other health problems, and severe lead poisoning can result in death.
