the word “boil” has many different meaning, one of which means “to bubble” so yes, lava can boil.
The melting point of lava is 678 degrees C (1252.4 degrees Fahrenheit) and it can only reach that temperature deep in the earth where the pressure is too high for it to boil.
Boiling is actually a transition phase of a liquid turning into a gas. Bubbles in lava are releases of gas and not a transition of the lava rock turning into gas.
Since lava is molten rock at very high temperature, it boils.
