No, surprisingly Italy is not the world top exporter of olives. That distinction currently belongs to Greece and Morocco comes in second. Italy, Spain, France, and the United States of America export mass amounts of olives each year, but are not the actual leaders in this crop. Morocco has made very large strides in their olive production in order to pass these other countries in recent years. In fact, Italy has been importing olive oil from Spain due to Spain’s extremely low prices in 2010.
