Does it take more water to raise beef than any other type of meat?

Yes it does. In fact, it’s estimated that 2500 gallons of water are needed as input for every one pound of beef produced.  Pork and chicken aren’t great in terms of water usage, but they don’t hold a candle to beef.  Just as a comparison, soy only uses 250 gallons of water per pound produced.
