Does it take a lot of energy to make algae into biofuel?

It is an expensive process. Algae need water and that water needs to be just the right temperature for it to proliferate. On top of this atmospheric levels of CO2 are not enough for the growth we want.

So as I answered in a question earlier, we simply do not have enough algae to produce the damand of which other sources of biofuel can.
