Does it save any energy to cook everything on low heat?

Saving energy by cooking things on low heat is really dependent on what you’re cooking and how long you have to cook it. If you have to cook something on low heat 3 or 4 times longer than you would have if you cooked it at it’s regular temperature, then it might use MORE energy since you are using the energy source for so much longer.

It can. It’s not as much of a guarantee as some other things to do in the kitchen (like making sure you’re using energy efficient appliances and cookware), but it can help. Putting lids on pots and pans while you cook to keep heat from escaping can also reduce your energy use.
