Does it need to be windy for a wind farm to benefit?

Unfortunately, without wind, a wind farm becomes obsolete.  The wind is what is needed to create the power that wind farms generate.  The role of the wind is as follows: the wind turns the blades (at the top of the turbine), which then spins a shaft, which is connected to a generator that makes the electricity and stores what is created.  In essence, the kinetic energy is converted into mechanical energy that can be used to power homes, businesses, etc.
