I was unable to find a direct answer to your question. But I did find that electric cars only have 5 moving parts in it’s motor compared to a regular, gasoline car that has hundreds of parts in its internal combustion engine. To me it would seem this very fact alone would make a regular car more expensive to mass produce than an electric vehicle. I did find information that states that electric cars cost substanially more to purchase than a regular car due to the cost of the lithium-ion battery pack needed to power the vehicles. However, you do receive a substanial tax credit for purchasing an eco-friendly vehicle.
