Does it cost more to heat your home with propane or with wood and a fire place?

This is kind of an illegitimate source but I saw this question on Mythbusters. They determined that having a wood fire doesn’t necessarily heat up a room. It can bring in cold air from the chimney and it is very inefficient for heating anything but the smallest of spaces.

Propane can be environmentally friendly and cheap and more efficient of a heater. It is much cleaner to burn and doesn’t release as many bad things into your air. It heats up a room far quicker than a wood fire. This is slightly dependent on the price of oil for any given time but it appears that research points to Propane as being the cheapest solution.
