This season, India has been incredibly short on water due to the fact that the monsoon rains were light. Because of this, Indians have had to pay deliverers driving water trucks for the life sustaining liquid, cosing them much more than many can afford. Some people argue that the effects are due to global warming. In all seasons, though, Indian water often cannot sustain all of its people because it is contaminated, or unclean water that would make someone very sick if she were to drink it. It is this kind of situation that reminds us why conservation and environmental activism are important–men, women, and children thirst to death because of the shortage.
