Rawhide bones seem to clean my dog’s teeth gums better than Greenies or any other type specifically for cleaning, and he has never had any issue digesting them.
No, I think it is referring only to animal bones. Rawhide bones are made generally from cow hides and do not pose the same risks that bones do, some of them can splinter and puncture the esophagus or stomach. There are choking hazards with rawhides as well, so it is a good idea to make sure your dog is supervised with any chew toy.
