In terms of mammals, Hawaii and the Galapagos Islands both have few native species.
In Hawaii there is only two native species of mammals: the Hawaiian Hoary Bat (Lasirus cinereus semotus), and the Hawaiian Monk Seal (Monachus schauinslandi).
The Galapagos Islands have a few more: the Galapagos sea lion, the Galapagos fur seal, three species of rice rat, and the Galapagos red bat
