Does the government give enough rebates to make up for the difference between a car and the hybrid version?

From what I have seen, the answer is “no” in the short term, and “yes” in the long term.

The rebates do not seem to make the sale price of a hybrid as low as a non-hybrid car, based on the models at which I have looked.

However, over even a relatively short car lifespan, the savings in fuel can make up the difference. And, of course, the peace of mind that you are doing something to help the planet and its inhabitants in the long run.
