Each individual fruit isn’t inspected, but whatever farm or entity produces them is expected to meet certain guidelines to be labeled organic.

Like most green labels, there are many different agencies that  have their own Organic Label, and each one is different. Some have more stringent regulations on what fertalizers and herbicides can be used.

California’s organic certification program CCOF, adheers to the USDA Natioanl Organic Program which prohibits the use of non-agricultural substances on crops, and must be up to 95% organic.
