Yes. The FWS has numerous programs intended to sustain/grow the population of certain species. This can be done through various avenues such as limiting or increasing the amount of hunting permits for a particular season. Also, the FWS has a fish hatchery program which repopulates lakes and other bodies of water with fish.
Their fish repopulating programs are awesome there are several lakes that I know of that they have been very successful in doing this with.
One of my friends raises different species of game birds like ring-neck pheasants and chukker quail and he has contracts with the department of fish and game to supply them with birds for repopulating projects. One of the areas that he works with is the Salton sea and repopulating that area with pheasants.
