Actually, yes. The Ferrari 599 hybrid can switch between gas and fully electric. The car is not yet available, Ferrari hopes to release it to the public in 2015. In typical Ferrari fashion, the car’s top speed is 200 MPH and goes from 0-60 MPH in 3.5 seconds.
Ferrari introduced a gas-electric hybrid prototype called the Ferrari 599 on March 3, 2011 at the Geneva Auto Show. The car uses an electric motor and lithium batteries to cut fuel consumption of its V12 engine by 35 percent. Ferrari is experimenting with green technology, but does not wish to compromise their reputation for acceleration and performance. If the Ferrari 599 is ever offered to consumers, it is estimated to cost twice as much as the gas-powered Ferrari 559 GTB Fiorano, which goes for around $320,000.
