Does the fence along the border hurt animal species?

The fence along the United States border with Mexico could isolate animals and endanger them by breaking up already endangered animals into smaller groups. The animals looked at more closely were the pygmy owl and bighorn sheep. Ideas on how to make the break easier to overcome by some of these animals is being looked into (such as placing trees that go over the wall nearby).

Because this border runs along national park lands, a number of the effected species are endangered or near endangered, estimated around 39 species could potentially be harmed by the fence.
