According to the Natural – Environment blog, eco-friendly fabrics aren’t necessarily vegan. What makes a fabric eco-friendly is having the characteristics of minimum use of chemicals / pesticides, best land management practices, sustainable farming practices, eco-friendly certification, animal friendly, and production adheres to fair trade practices. The blog lists 17 fabrics to look for when considering fabric, some of which include hemp, jute, ingeo, calico, hessian cloth, organic cotton, recycled polyester, milk silk, soy silk, and spider-web fabric.
