Does the extension of public comment period for EPA changes to gas and oil practices have any significane for the ruling on Keystone XL Pipeline?

    It may make a difference.  I think a lot depends on the strength of the public voice on this issue.  The EPA is afterall an executive office and if Obama wants to be re-elected he has to tread carefully with this issue.  Extending the public comment period may be a way to gauge whether he can afford to ignore the environmentalists and Native American activists on this issue.
