Does every state produce its own electricity?

Electricity is produced and transmitted by a utility provider.  State governments regulate utility providers (including electric) within the state.  However, states themselves do not produce electricity.  Power utility companies include”investor-owned, publicly owned, cooperatives, or federal utilities.” There are also over 2,000 non-utility power providers in the US.
