Does the environmental damage caused by mining uranium outweigh the benefits of the lower emissions of nuclear power?

I would certainly argue that it does. Uranium mining can cause problems with ground water and drinking water as well as yet unknown issues stemming from the radiation it contains. For an overview of these and their effect on the Navajo nation check the link below. If we couple this with the fact that even though nuclear power lowers emissions it is not renewable or clean, producing radioactive waste that will pose a danger for thousands of years, I think it’s clear that nuclear is not the answer to our climate crisis.
