Traditional vehicles require gasoline or diesel fuel to run. Nowadays with new technology, there are hybrid and electric vehicles that use alternative forms of energy such as biofuel(like ethanol), coupled electricity forms of energy and gasoline, etc. But typically, cars use diesel or gasoline fuel.
If the question relates to crankcase oil (lubricant), then yes, it comes from the same original crude oil as gasoline, fuel oil, jet fuel, diesel, plastics, asphalt, etc.
