Does electricity lose its power the further that it gets transported?

    Yes, it does.

    The more resistors there are, the lower the voltage becomes. 

    When electricity travels over long distances, large amounts of voltage are used. Before it reaches a house it is usually reduced to about 120V for regular household applainces.
