Does climate change effect islands more than any other type of land?

To an extent, yes. The biggest threat to island nations stemming from climate change is rising sea levels. Because islands often have lower elevations relative to larger landmasses, they’re at risk for being drowned completely. Some island nations like the Maldives average only a meter or so above sea level, and consequently have put aside a government fund for relocation of citizens in case of rising tides.
