Generally, no. There are some instances where in the earth’s elliptical orbit around the sun, the sun’s gravity is acting less on the earth due to distance. the closer the earth moves to the sun the faster it would move through space in it’s orbit. this is done because of centrifugal force, balancing gravity’s force.
