You’re actually referring to E85 I believe, a fuel made of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. Yes, E85 burns much cleaner. It releases C02, but it uses plants rather than fossil fuels. Plants recycle CO2, whereas fossil fuels are releasing CO2 that has been locked away for millions of years. The risk to the environment is much less with E85 than traditional gas.
