Driving a bigger car absolutely increases your carbon footprint, especially if it’s unnecessary for your needs. Many people like to argue that businesses and large industries have a far larger carbon footprint, which is absolutely true but it cheapens the power of the consumer. The consumer can use their purchasing power to only patronize products that have little or no impact on the environment. Though there are certainly instances that are better or worse for the environment, it’s our responsibility to do what we can.
