Does the digestive system break down all chemicals to things our body can use?

No, that is why we must expel waste from our bodies. Our digestive system can process and remove the nutrients that we need from the substances we consume, but much of what we consume can not be processed, such as cellulose and certain times of oils. Over chemicals that do get absorbed into the blood stream but aren’t good from the body, such as alcohol, are cleaned out by the liver and expelled through urine.
