Does cooking in your kitchen release carbon in the atmosphere?

There is more than one answer to this question. Cooking with yeast when making bead products releases carbon dioxide into the bread and some into the environment. This has an environmentally negligible impact though. Cooking with wood burning stoves and ovens releases carbon from the breaking down of the composition of wood. Modern stoves and ovens that use gas release carbon monoxide into the environment as well, which is why people have carbon monoxide detectors in their homes.
