Does composting work better in warm climates?

Sort of.  If you live in a cold climate a compost pile can go dormant in the winter, but start back up in the spring.  So, warm climate composting is more continuous.  However, according to the composting guide I found on you do not need to have a hot pile to be able to compost efficiently, 50 degrees F or higher is sufficient.
