According to the EPA, “A properly managed compost bin will not attract pests or rodents and will not smell bad.” To keep your compost from attracting pests, you should leave out all dairy products, oils, grease, lard, and meat or fish bones/scraps. These are all items that would cause pests to radiate around your compost bin.
