Does color photography use more harmful chemicals than black-and-white?

The real difference to note is not between color or black and white photography, but between film and digital photography. Digital photography is far more environmentally conscious, it uses less water, less paper, and less chemicals than film does. As a whole, the chemicals used for both color and black/white film developing are pretty bad for the environment, though they use different chemicals.
