Does the color of a lake change when it turns over or flips?

It may. Some of the signs of lake turnover are clumps of dead leaves and vegetation, and the color of the water may be a greenish-brown. Some people say that the color resembles a pea green. You may also see a kind of foam near the surface. Not all parts of a lake will experience turnover at the same time, and if there is a strong current through an area, it may not experience turnover at all.
