Yes. China has the highest production of hydroelectricity in the world. And it’s growing: China produced 486.7 terawatt-hours (TW-h) in 2007 and 563.3 TW-h in 2008. The total installed capacity is 171.5 GW, and includes the Three Gorges Dam, which is the largest power plant in the world by capacity. Overall, 17% of China’s electricity is supplied by hydro power.
