Does chewing gum decompose?

No, chewing gum does not usually decompose as it is made from non-biodegradable materials such as plasticizers, resins, elastomers and rubber. Therefore, it is not organic and due to its base, gum does not naturally decompose.

Chewing gum is made with a base of non-biodegradable materials like natural or synthetic latex, rubber or wax. So they do not decompose.
