In terms of which state is greener, it depends on the issue. The U.S. Clean Energy Index recently named California the top clean energy state in the nation with a score of 91.6, with Oregon coming in second with a score of 68.6. The study takes into account a variety of energy techniques including energy policy, technique, and ventures. In terms of carbon footprint, Oregon comes out on top. In Forbes’ list of greenest states, Oregon is commended for low carbon emissions, indicated by the state’s low-pollution and low-smog metro areas. Oregon is also a leader in green buildings that have received LEED certification.
